Helping Us Reach Further
Windmill exists to make sure that cost is not the reason a young person misses out on completing their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
We want to support more young people from Blackpool and the Fylde Coast who have the commitment and determination to take on Gold, but for whom the financial barriers make it difficult or impossible.
Every contribution helps us do that.
Fund a young person
Your support can help meet the costs that stand between a young person and their Gold Award — from expeditions and residentials to essential equipment and other practical support.
You can support one young person, contribute towards several, or simply give what you can. It all helps create another opportunity.
Supply kit, resources or practical support
Support does not have to mean writing a cheque.
Outdoor clothing and equipment, transport, storage, printing, professional expertise and other practical resources can all reduce the cost of creating opportunities for young people.
If you have something useful to offer, we’d like to hear from you.
Partner with Windmill
We welcome conversations with businesses, grant-making organisations and individuals who want to build a longer-term relationship with the Windmill Youth Group.
That could include corporate sponsorship, grant funding, fundraising challenges, legacy giving, supporting a particular programme or finding another way to help us reach more young people.
Or tell us what you can offer
Some of Windmill’s most valuable support over the years hasn’t fitted neatly into a category.
If you have an idea, a resource, a contact or an opportunity that could help, tell us about it.
We’ll tell you honestly whether we can use it and, if we can, how it could make a difference to a young person from Blackpool or the Fylde Coast.
